Important to read for children

Reading to your children at an early age is important for their language development. It is also crucial that they have the opportunity to create their own mental images by listening to a story without being simultaneously inundated with external visual stimuli. This provides the child with practice to eventually do the reverse, that is, to write down a story based on their own thoughts. Therefore, storytelling is important from many perspectives and is a part of the child's development towards understanding words and contexts on their path to constructing their own language and comprehending their environment. It also contributes to fostering a desire for independent reading in children.
